Fire Destroys Three-Story Boarding House in Palmerah

An electrical short-circuit is believed to be the cause of fire that burned to the ground a three-story boarding house in Sandang Complex No. A5, RT 02/011, Palmerah Urban Village, Palmerah Sub-District, West Jakarta, Thursday (4/17). Luckily, there is no casualty reported in this incident.

Guruh (26), one of boarding house occupants, said the fire that burned Rahman (55)’s house happened at around 1 PM. At that time, he was sleeping and woke up when he heard shouts about fire from other occupants. Immediately, he and other occupants saved their valuables in the house.

“I don’t know the cause of fire. But from my friend’s information, it was triggered by electricity short-circuit on the third floor near the water toren,” he uttered.

Fire on Jalan Batok Finally Controlled after 5 Hours

To put out the flames, 10 fire trucks from West Jakarta Fire and Disaster Handling Sub-Department were deployed to the scene. The fire was finally extinguished in about an hour later.
